Setting up Dial-up Networking:
Press Start
Control Panel
If you have the title: Pick a category
Select: Network and Internet Connection
Select: Set up or change your Internet connection
Skip to SETUP
If not
Select: Internet Options
Click on tab: Connections
SETUP
Press the button Setup
NEXT
Use the default: Connect to the Internet
NEXT
Change to: Set up my connection manually
NEXT
Use the default: Connect using a dial-up modem
NEXT
Enter: Miliserv
NEXT
Enter the phone number:
Milwaukee: 908-1443
Outside Milwaukee 414, calling Milwaukee: 1 414 908-1443
Racine: 676-0056
Milwaukee Internet Service is not responsible for any long distance charges
incurred when using this service. You must check with your local telephone provider to
ensure a local connection to one of our access numbers.
NEXT
Enter at User Name: you login name
Enter you password twice
NEXT
If you wish, check Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop
FINISH
Open Internet Options again ***IMPORTANT***
Click on tab: Connections
In box select Miliserv
Select: Always dial my default connect
If more than one connection
Press on button Set Default
Press on button OK
Close Control panel
Set up Outlook Express
Open "Outlook Express"
Click the "Tools" on menu bar
Click on "Accounts"
Click "Add" button
Click "Mail"
Type in the name you want to display on your
sent messages
Click "Next"
Click "I already have an e-mail address"
Enter your e-mail address (your_login_name@miliserv.net)
Click "Next"
For the "Incoming mail server" enter:
mail.miliserv.net
For the "Outgoing mail server" enter:
mail.miliserv.net
Click "Next"
Make sure your login name is shown as the account name
Enter your password
Click "Next"
Click "Finish"
